DANSA – LUCHA (Dance – Fight)

During the Rite of initiation the young male tribe members had to fight with the spirits represented by their elders with painted bodies and masks. In this way they would overcome their fears and enter adulthood. By doing so the total separation from the mother was reached making the young man suitable for uniting with a woman.
